You now have 400 Hanja characters at your command! Nice job! At this point, you are probably able to guess a lot of the Hanja characters in a Korean word if you hear it for the first time. You can probably also infer meaning even when encountering new or unfamiliar characters.
In Unit 5, you will continue to learn some difficult characters. These 100 characters will often carry more abstract, specialized, or literary meanings. These characters may not feel immediately useful at first glance, but they play a crucial role in advanced vocabulary, academic writing, historical texts, and formal registers of Korean.
